PRACTICING HEALTHY LIFE DURING MCO
Hello peeps! How are you doing during this Movement Control Order (MCO)? Is it good? So, this MCO is the best time for us to take care of our health. Moreover, healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle can help boost up our immunity to fight off the virus.
So here I want to share some tips to help us to take care of our health during this MCO period.
First and most importantly, we must eat on a regular basis. Maintain a consistent schedule for our main meals, which are breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and stick to it even if you are at home, exactly as you did before the MCO. If you did not have time to prepare your breakfast, you can take a chocolate malt drink from Socolic's. The natural ingredients contained in the 1 sachet of Socolics will give you the energy to start your day. The important reminder for ourselves is to avoid skipping meals because this might lead to overeating at the next meal or binge eating bad food in between meals.
Apart from that, cook your own food and you can control what is going into your food. I always cook on my own and brought packed lunch to the office. For me, it is more satisfying when you eat your home-cooked meals. When compared to home-cooked meals, outside foods often contain more sodium, calories, and fats. Furthermore, we cannot guarantee the quality of the ingredients used or the hygiene practices. If we cook our meals on our own, we can make sure good hygiene practices. There are many healthy recipes you can try out. You can also join any healthy recipes group on Facebook. The best group on Facebook that I can suggest is "Resepi Sedap & Sihat", "Sihat Tanpa Ubat dan Supplement" and many more. Indeed, home cook is the best!
The vital part is to, stay hydrated! The key to living a healthy life is to stay hydrated. You must drink at least 8 glasses of water per day, especially plain water because it contains no calories. You HAVE TO limit caffeinated beverages and high sodium foods that might cause dehydration, as people often mistake thirst for hunger and eat more as a result. Sugary drinks, such as carbonated drinks and cordial drinks, should be limited to one serving per day or completely avoided. Glucose is converted to fat when consumed in excess, which can lead to obesity in the long run.
You may stay active by performing an indoor exercise, which benefits our bodies in a variety of ways, including reducing stress, re-energizing, and, most significantly, boosting our immune systems. Take 30 minutes a day only to exercise. Instead of sitting for long periods of time, take short walks around the house. If you live in a landed house, take a walk around the compound, or walk up and down the stairs multiple times if you live in a condo or apartment. Since I live in the village, I usually play badminton after I have done my work. Both my parents also join us in playing badminton after they have done gardening and cleaning around our house. Blood circulation can be improved through gardening and cleaning the house. You also can try out a variety of workouts, such as Zumba, Pilates, Tabata, or any kind of workouts by browsing YouTube videos. Warm-up before exercising and cool down later.
Lastly, and perhaps most important, please take care of yourself. Limit your movement and only go outside when you have an essential. To limit the risk of Covid infection, stay away from crowded areas. Also, before going anyplace, sanitize yourself and clean yourself before resting at home. REMEMBER OUR LOVED ONES AND STAY SAFE TOGETHER!
